Two Days Left, First Blog from OKC/ SPOKE TO SOON

Okay so I have been neglecting my blog again for the last couple of weeks in preparation for my trip to OKC and you know, ACTUALLY BEING IN OKLAHOMA!

Yes, people Minion is in the great big OKC as we...read? type? Share in the blogophiliness.

I've been here for two weeks, I can't believe my trip is coming to a close, I have so much to talk about and share, starting with my nightmare-ish 9 hours at Ottawa International Airport.

I arrived at 3:30 am like planned, a good two and a half hours before my flight was scheduled to take off, I got checked in, went through security without a hitch (most concerned about my peircings) and sat in the departures lounge, hyper and eager to get on with my voyage.
Time ticks on and I realize, ten minutes until my plane is scheduled to take off, we get an announcement saying our plane has been delayed.
Ten minutes later, our plane has been cancelled.
I get worried as I have to make a connecting flight in Chicago in two hours.
So. The Airline reroutes a new plane, re-shedules all the people on my flight and we get a plane around 3 pm. A solid 12 hours in the airport. I had to go through the bowels of the airport, reclaim my luggage, check in for the NEW flight, go through customs again, and FINALLY I get on a plane.
Its tiny and loud but we take off and I can see the snows of Ottawa vanish into the clouds. Next time I see land, its brown and there is no snow.
I landed in Chicago and get to my new gate in five minutes. All those horrible nightmare tales of transfering in Chicago, and my departures gate is THREE away from my arrivals gate.
I sit for twenty minutes in O'hare and then I board my flight to Oklahoma.
I'm starting to get nervous and excited and I sleep most of my two hour flight, I awake up and we're banking over the Mississippi. Then moments later, we're flying over the Canadian River (which flows through OKC and for ten miles is called the Oklahoman River) I recognized buildings, parks and the state fair grounds from google earth and then we land, in a rush, flying over oil pumps (look like big metal chickens). COOL!!

I land in OKC and with the help of a local make my way to luggage claim where I am, honest to the gods, attacked by a man in a trenchcoat screaming 'MINION!'. For a full second I froze and then I realized, yes, this IS how I was to be greeted by my DSG and I flung my arms around him in return and we held on to each other for a few minutes giggling and muttering 'My Minion!' and 'My DSG!' back and forth...and yes, DSG does giggle.

I get my first real taste of OKC when going to claim my luggage they show me an emergancy tornado shelter sign. YAH. IN THE AIRPORT.

We went outside and SHOCK, oklahoma is FUCKING cold. I MEAN IT!! Its damn chilly!!! but I still get to see the dogs waiting for me excited in the car, wagging thier butts and tongues ready for kisses. Yes, I left the terminal yelling for them, JETHRO!! LEOOOONA!!!!! LOL I love my dogs.

My Dogs.

Our dogs.

LOL

Sunday --> first full day of my stay in OKC is DSG's dad's birthday and we went out for breakfast and we fucked around all day, laughing and cuddling.

Monday --> we drove around town looking for oil dereks, and sight seeing, we went to the Paseo, which is the swanky arts district, very new bohemian, very Spanish in architecture. I picked up a box of REAL nag champa, made with REAL champa, not the knock-off blue stuff. :D I love it. The store I picked it up in was very spiritual yet non-denominational. DSG also made his famous Chicken Marsala. MMMMMM Receive my first souvenir, a pretty incense burner from DSG. It has a pentagram on it, he knows me so well.

Tuesday--> We went down town and walked around the Myriad Gardens and did some more cruising around, and I got to see EXACTLY how big the koi are....3-4 feet long. AND TURTLES!! also, flew gods know how far, to see Canadian Fucking Geese. UGH. I CAN"T ESCAPE THEM!!

Wednesday ---> I got sick. FUN. DSG insists he takes me to teh doctors and I bricked at how little it costs for a checkup and meds in the states. You don't want to know. YOU REALLY DON'T!!

Thursday --> DSG goes and does his drivers license test. He fails but he's still a good driver. Fucking technical bullshit. :P Went to the mall to do a little retail therapy, gorged ourselves on Jelly Bellies, home made pixie sticks, fresh hot pretzels and I picked up an AWESOME belt-buckle flask. My Second souvenir from OKC. BTW, allowing Yve to eat more sugar in three hours then she has all year is A BAD IDEA. MONUMENTAL SUGAR HIGH PEOPLE!! Successfully frightened DSG.

Friday --> OKC ZOO!! AWWWW!!!! I got a sunburn. Are you surprised? I'm not. I ALWAYS BURN!!!! Got to see the coolest sticker ever, a big fat warning sign on the hippo building warning against extreme weather. It had a picture of a tornado. HAH! The Zoo was awesome though I'd like to speak to the person in charge of the set up of the Oklahoman trails exhibit, placing the cougars next to the deer and turkies next to the wolves was not a well thought out plan, BUT it did seem to keep the animals active. LOL. And, the scissor tail birds who, despite my patience for following them from perch to perch managed to elude my camera. Go figure, DSG who sees them all the time, gets the one good shot. >:P He's lucky I love him.

Saterday--> Zoo recovery. Firefly-a-thon.

Sunday --> Cold Recovery. Mass Firefly-a-thon continues. YARR!! DSG is hooked on space pirates. HAH!!

Monday--> DSG has my cold and we drag him to the doctors. pay back is a bitch.

Tuesday --> The Crystal Bridge. OMFG!!! SO PRETTY!!!!! Plants and lizards and fishes and CAMERA's!!! it was celebrating its 25th anniversay and it was free, so obviously being cheap and wonderful, I drag DSG down with me and we have a blast doing the walk twice around the bridge and then once around the gardens outside, where I successfully harass some wild turtles, and I enjoy having partial use of my nose again as I discover a small grove of apple blossom trees, mixed with pear trees and red-buds. SO PRETTY!! DSG's best friend comes over and we get high together and have a good laugh. He's awesome GO TIM!!!

Wednesday --> Cold recovery and Bridge recovery, DSG and I stay home and sleep all day. It was good.

Thursday --> We go to the shooting range. I get to fire a Colt Mustang MK-IV .380 ACP
or in dummy talk a 380 pistol. WOOT! As DSG calles it a 'pocket pistol'. I fired off around 50 rounds and it was SO FUCKING COOL!! Normally I am a big anti-gun person, but know your enemy right? Well, I LOVE MY FUCKING ENEMY!! I refused to fire the .45 Colt 1911-A1, it's big, heavy and I wasn't comfortable holding it, but DSG understood and gave me wonderful instruction on my little friend, the .380, :D :D :D as I reward, he took me back to the mall and bought me my very own build-a-bear bunny, whom I've lovingly called Morgan Lily (long involved story between me and DSG) and I've decked her out in green ribbon as that is DSG's favourite colour and I want to remember my trip as sentimentally as I can. (he also bought me two hot pretzels. MMMMMM)

Tomorrow we're going to see the plasticized people, YAY!!! at the Omniplex aka KirkPatrick Center and then we're hitting up Bricktown in the evening to get pictures and on Saterday fingers crossed we're going to the art gallery to see the Dale Chihuly exhibit GAHH!! GEEEKTASTIC!! and then to his sisters (maybe) for dinner. Sunday I leave :( I NO WANNA!!! -sniffles-

I can't believe its been two weeks already. -sighs- Its not fair.

now I'm being pestered to draw a wanted poster for my local pirate. he has to wait until tomorrow as I am very tired and want to cuddle. HAH!! no AW!! I know you're reading over my shoulder you nuzzlemonkey. -kiss-

BYE YA'LL!!!

----
YO BITCHES! STILL IN OKC!!
----

So I was suppose to leave on Sunday, to go back home to Canada, but there was a combination of weather and mechanical problems, so my flight was delayed, and then cancelled.

I spent three hours crying for nothing because I got THREE more days with my DSG!

Upon returning to my ticket counter I was informed I could leave on tuesday and take a flight from OKC to St. Louis, and then to NYC overnight in NYC and then head to Toronto to fly to Ottawa.

FUCK NO!

I asked when my next flight OCK to Chicago to Ottawa was and they informed me late wednesday morning, early wednesday morning or wednesday afternoon.

I took wednesday afternoon and called DSG to come pick me up.

He was happy to see me stay :D okay I lied, he was THROUGH the roof to see me stay three days longer.

I'm happy too, but I'm starting to get home sick and I miss my dog.

Funny story?

The night I was suppose to leave, OKC got it with a tornado! I KNOW! TWO weeks in OKC and I barely got a good thunderstorm, and the night I was suppose to leave we get a tornado!! Do you know how pissed I would have been if I left and that happened?!? UGH!!!

Even funnier, we got woken up this morning at seven am by my mom wondering if we were okay, apparently canada gets news that oklahoma gets smacked by tornados. LOL It didn't even occur to me to call home and let her know I was okay when it happened. OOPS.

heheheh tornados!!!

So much to say, so very enthused not too.

Well I finished a painting today, I started it way back in...geez August or September? I had plans to keep it all to myself, but I'm actually giving it as a gift.

:D

I have more pictures of it, but the sun went behind the clouds and ruined the light in my dining room. :S

It's titled 'That place in my mind, is the place you call 'mine'.'

Its from a song, gods know I can't remember the title, but I loved the pensive, deep look on the fellows face and it struck true to heartache when I chatted with the subject. I hope I did the original photograph justice.

TWO DAYS TILL I LEAVE FOR OKLAHOMA!!

Officially Spring

Everyone is always going on about WHEN spring officially starts and for me its not when the grass is growing or flowers are budding or its above 0 for a week, its when I see the first groundhog.

ITS OFFICIALLY SPRING!!

I saw a gopher hole all dug out and not far away a second hole all dug out and sitting in the sun was a fuzzy (skinneh) gopher max'in and relaxin' yesterday on my way home from south keys.

YAY SPRING!
